Home Garden Training Completed at Shree Laliguras Secondary School, Nau, Dailekh
CAED, in collaboration with Thrive for Good - India successfully conducted a three-day training on home garden at Shree Laliguras Secondary School, Nau, Dailekh. The training focused on soil preparation, compost making, pest management, and efficient vegetable production.
Participants learned practical techniques such as double
digging, compost preparation, and crop rotation using locally available
resources. Hands-on sessions included building a keyhole garden, preparing
natural pesticides, and creating sack gardens for small spaces.
The training also introduced planting aromatic plants such
as coriander and marigold to naturally repel pests. Emphasis was placed on
improving nutrition through diverse vegetable production, which contributes to
better health, disease prevention, and overall well-being.
Participants actively engaged in all activities and many
expressed interest in applying these sustainable practices in their own home
gardens.
